Why I Revlon Run/Walk: Amy Wilder

April 6, 2011

Amy WilderThe third clip in our video series highlighting Actors Fund Team members for the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women (April 30, 2011 in New York and May 7, 2011, in Los Angeles) features Amy Wilder, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) for The Fund’s Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative (PNWHI). Amy initially moved to New York to pursue a career in professional ballet, and was a member of the American Ballet Theatre from 1986–98. She also attended NYU and studied and taught Pilates, but eventually decided to take a slightly different path by earning her MSW at Hunter College School of Social Work. Amy has been working as a social worker since 2004, and has been with The Fund since 2009.

On April 30, she’ll take to the streets inspired by all of the wonderful, brave women she has encountered who have faced their cancer and chosen life—no matter the outcome. She’s also taking part for a dear friend currently living with ovarian cancer.

Become part of The Actors Fund team for the 14th Annual Revlon Run/Walk (click here for NYC and here for LA) , for which we’re walking in memory of our beloved friend Lynn Redgrave, as well as all women in our lives that have faced cancer. Your participation directly impacts EIF funding for The Actors Fund Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, which serves women in the entertainment community who are confronting cancer and other serious heath diagnoses.
